When I was a little girl (I was born in 1967) I began collecting Breyer Horses. That is all I ever asked for at Christmas, birthday and anytime someone asked me what I wanted. I absolutely adored my horses. My favorite and prized possesion was my Lady Phase gift set. Lady Phase was a barrel horse owned by country western singer Lynn Anderson. I have never been able to get over all of my horses melting in a house fire. I will probably never have my collection back. But it would truly be a blessing if I could find Lady Phase.

I'm still waiting
by: Angie

Hello everyone, I just want to touch base and let you know that I am still trying to get a nice room full of Breyer horses again after a lifetime of collecting them melted away. I recently lost my mother as she departed this earth. She was the force behind my first collection as I was her baby. LOL! We are always our mama's babies even after we are all grown up. I do not want a collection to sell. I want it to enjoy and look at as I grow old and to leave to my daughter and hopefully grandchildren if I ever have any. Please send me pics and prices if you have any to get rid of.

Blessings to you all,
Angela

Lady Phase
by: Angela

Thank you all for your responses. I still haven't found my lady phase gift set. I would love to see your collections and want to thank you all for caring about me. I will probably never be able to afford to build my collection again as I have incurred huge hospital bills from a riding accident and severe head injury I incurred after writing this article. Hence my not being on here for a very long time. But thanks to Jesus....I remembered today. Hugs to you all.

Lost collection
by: Lisa in Nashville

I just about starting crying when I read your story. I was born in 1969 and I also collected Breyer horses with a passion. I am still close with my best friend from 3rd grade who also collected. My mother gave my entire collection away while I was away at college. I secretly believe that she sold them for money. I breaks my heart because now I have a horse crazy daughter that would love to have them. I also have looked on ebay and I do believe that you can replace your collection. It will not be cheap and you may spend the rest of your life trying to get those hard to find ones. Have faith!!!!!!!!

Start with a guide
by: Anonymous

Jean, I am so sorry you lost your collection. As an avid collector myself, I would suggest you start with a guide. A simple one that will help you identify the models you are looking for such as Felicia Browells guide.
Then, once you have that, you can start to scan eBay for tons of models that are being sold. Be sure to ask plenty of questions before you buy though. Find trusted sellers such as the ones that are some of the "Featured Collectors" on this site. Most of them have been buying and selling models for a long time and know how to do it honestly.
I hope this helps you Jean! Good luck and have fun!

She is Coming!!!
by: StarNet

Have faith young lady! because it CAN happen! Believe me, I lost all my little horsies too, when my Dad died, long ago, and I never knew Breyer kept making them, and while old, now, 61, and with access to ebay, I actually not only replaced most of them, I got MORE!!! Now I have joined the ranks of the OBSESSED! and no dollar is safe in my pocket anymore, when I can go to ebay and get MORE! The REAL problem becomes SPACE! You know, being so old, I think, am I kidding myself, collecting THESE, when nobody I know is going to love inheriting them! but I don't care because they just make my difficult life FUN SOMETIMES, I get to wake up every morning to their cute little faces and trim bodies, and wish every time, THEY WERE ALIVE! but then if they were alive, I WOULD HAVE TO FEED THEM! As it is, I just have to SQUEEZE THEM IN to my scant room! I'd put them elsewhere in the house, but my room is the only consistently warm room in the house. Don't give up, God knows where your little Lady Phase is, and is preparing her for you at ebay or at another horsie-station somewhere on the net, one of these fine days, and I pray when that happens, nobody else will bid on her, just YOU. Absolutely! In Yahshua's great name, for this I pray! take care and God Bless!, your fellow in the Obsession, kathy
